This backing plate will fitted on the axle hub with the help of high graded cap screws. Also, this plate supports to fix the brake shoe roller and S-Cam shaft for braking support.

Friction Material: Friction material are plays a crucial role in this braking system, the material is made from various compounds like asbestos (in older models), ceramic, semi-metallic, or organic materials. The choice of friction material affects performance characteristics such as stopping power, wear resistance, and heat dissipation. Generally, these friction shoes are riveted on the brake metals, which helps us during serviceable time.
Spring Mechanism: Brake shoes come equipped with a spring mechanism that helps return the shoes to their original position after braking. This mechanism typically includes return springs, which pull the shoes back into place, and hold-down springs that keep the shoes securely attached to the backing plate. Slack adjustor are attached to the another end of this spring mechanism.
