Bharat Gears Limited was founded by Dr. Athak. Raunak Singh, who aspired to embrace the challenges of liberalizing the Indian economy and the opportunities of the 21st century. With his dynamic leadership, Dr. Raunak Singh was instrumental in strengthening Bharat Gears to the leadership position it is today. Established on 23 December 1971, BGL is India's largest gear manufacturing company. Since its commencement of activity in 1974, BGL obtained technical and financial cooperation with Holcroft, Michigan, USA in May 1983 for manufacturing furnaces and ZF Friedrichshafen, AG, Germany, in 1985 till mid-May 2007, for manufacturing gearboxes. BGL manufactures a wide range of gears for HCVs, MCVs, LCVs, SUVs and SUVs. Products include bevel, spur and transmission gears.
